
Agriculture ministries of Moldova and Azerbaijan agreed on multi-dimensional collaboration agreement
Chisinau, Dec. 7 /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA) Vladimir Bolea and his counterpart from Azerbaijan, Majnun Mammadov, agreed on the initiation of a draft agreement between the ministries. They pointed out that the goals and areas of cooperation should be established in the most shortly, MAIA announces today.
The officials presented their views on the development of bilateral trade relations in the agricultural sector, making investments in agriculture and the agro-food industry, exchanging knowledge and academic experiences.
"We are focused on initiatives aimed at creating a favorable environment for the development and sustainable growth of agriculture. We are also under adjusting legislation, agricultural standards and practices to the requirements and rules imposed by European legislation and policies in the field. This implies, first of all, higher standards in terms of food safety and the quality of agricultural products", Bolea said.
The meeting was held in the context of the 5th meeting of the Moldovan-Azeri intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation yesterday in Chisinau.
