DOC // NBM to put into circulation two coins on 35th anniversary of proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Moldova
The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) will put into circulation, starting on 26 August, two coins dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the proclamation of the Independence of the Republic of Moldova. The decisions were published today in the Official Journal.
The first decision concerns the putting into circulation of the commemorative coin “35 Years Since the Proclamation of the Independence of the Republic of Moldova”, 2026 issue, as legal tender and for numismatic purposes.
The commemorative coin is made of silver, has a face value of 100 lei and a mintage of 1,300 units.
The second decision provides for the putting into circulation of the commemorative circulation coin “35 Years Since the Proclamation of the Independence of the Republic of Moldova”, 2026 issue.
The coin with a face value of 10 lei and a mintage of 250 thousand pieces will circulate as legal tender on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, in parallel with 10-lei circulation coins (2018 issue), including 10-lei commemorative circulation coins and banknotes with a face value of 10 lei from previous issues.
On 27 August 2026, the Republic of Moldova will mark 35 years since the proclamation of Independence.
