Moldova, Bulgaria strengthen cooperation: meeting between representatives of two countries' Chambers of Commerce and Industry

The opportunities for strengthening economic cooperation between Moldova and Bulgaria, as well as the possibilities for implementing joint projects for the benefit of the business communities of both countries have been analyzed at a meeting between representatives of Moldova’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bulgaria.

According to the CCI, the discussions focused on identifying new ways to support companies from Moldova and Bulgaria, facilitating direct contacts between entrepreneurs and capitalizing on the potential for economic and commercial cooperation.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed to examine the possibility of organizing joint events, including business forums, bilateral meetings and initiatives to promote partnerships between Moldovan and Bulgarian companies.

According to statistics data, in 2021Bulgaria ranked 15th among the main trade partners of Moldova, with a share of 3.5-per cent of total trade volume. The value of Moldova’s foreign trade with Bulgaria reached 155 million US dollars in 2021 (+28.20 per cent). Exports to Bulgaria amounted to 77.8 million US dollars, while imports totaled 77.2 million US dollars.
