Moldova's Public Property Agency orders investigation at MoldATSA, suspends enterprise's director from duty
The Public Property Agency (APP) has ordered an investigation at MoldATSA and suspended the exercise of duties by the enterprise’s director.
According to a press release issued by the APP, the decision was taken after the institution had initiated proceedings ex officio following information that appeared in the public space regarding the legality and authenticity of the documents submitted in the competition file of the director, Dumitru Vangheli, as well as other aspects concerning managerial activity at the enterprise.
In the context, the APP has set up an investigation commission that will examine the circumstances made public objectively and comprehensively. The commission will request and analyze the necessary documents, will hear the persons involved and will present to the founder, within 30 days, a report with conclusions and proposals.
For the duration of the investigation, the exercise of duties by Dumitru Vangheli is suspended, until the presentation of the commission’s conclusions and the adoption of a decision by the founder, the APP announced. To ensure the continuity of the activity of the State Enterprise MoldATSA, the current administrative duties will be exercised by Vitalie-Silviu Midrigan.
At the same time, the government’s spokesperson, Daniela Crudu, today confirmed that the former Prime Minister, Dorin Recean, was appointed, as of June 15, 2026, without any remuneration, as a member of the Board of Directors of the State Enterprise MoldATSA, being designated by the Public Property Agency. “His experience will contribute to strengthening the risk management framework for security in the field of aviation, including by improving the activity of the institution responsible for air traffic management and ensuring a system of interinstitutional coordination,” emphasized Daniela Crudu.
Dumitru Vangheli was appointed interim administrator of MOLDATSA in the summer of 2024. Subsequently, in September 2025, he won the competition for the position of enterprise’s administrator.
