Moldovan producers display processed fruits, honey at exhibition in Germany
Chisinau, 12 October /MOLDPRES/ - Four enterprises from Moldova promote processed fruits and honey in Anuga, the biggest fair of food products and beverages, held in Cologne, Germany, on 9-13 October.
The companies participating in the exhibition are beneficiaries of the mentoring programme on export to the European Union’s market, implemented by the Moldova Fruct Association of Fruits Producers and Exporters and financed by the International Finance Corporation, within the Moldova Investment Climate Reform Project, in cooperation with the CBI Agency from the Netherlands.
„Visitors were delighted by the taste qualities of the products which we propose. We discussed with a string of potential buyers from Bulgaria, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Egypt, Germany and Romania. Increased interest was displayed for dry plums, dry honey cubes, apple chips. We managed to establish, with a trader from Bulgaria, also the date of shipping the first two trucks with goods,’’ a producer of dry fruits from Nisporeni, Gheorghe Cibotaru, said.
According to a specialist in marketing at Moldova Fruct, Octavian Olaru, the goal of the participation in this type of events is to attract new buyers, as well as adjusting to the technologies of packing products and their promotion.
„We made sure once again that producers from Moldova have the needed capacities to cope with all requirements of the buyers from various markets. The fruits processed in Moldova have real perspectives to be found on the table of consumers from EU; this is proved by the participation in Anuga. The fruits can be consumed as snacks, as well as in the culinary industry. The Moldovan products must identify and use the instruments of placement on market: attractive packaging, correct information about the product on the packaging, certificates of quality and traceability which the consumer can find on the provider’s webpage,’’ Octavian Olaru said.
Moldova in the last years has become well-known for the production and commerce with fresh fruits and at the exhibition in Germany, native producers showed that they can provide also processed fruits, honey and apicultural goods.
