National Wine Day returns to Chișinău with anniversary edition on October 3–4
The 25th edition of National Wine Day will take place on October 3 and 4, 2026, in the Great National Assembly Square in Chișinău. The event will bring together more than 100 wine producers and tens of thousands of visitors from across the country and abroad, according to the National Vine and Wine Office (ONVV).
The event is organized by ONVV, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and the Ministry of Culture. The organizers promise an anniversary edition dedicated to Moldovan wine, the people who produce it, and the winegrowing and winemaking traditions that have become one of the most recognized calling cards of the Republic of Moldova.
“Over two days, visitors will be able to discover new wines, limited editions, and well-known products, as well as talk directly with winemakers to learn the stories behind the bottles. A key part of the program will be the Wine School, where participants can attend masterclasses led by certified sommeliers and learn more about grape varieties, tasting techniques, and pairing wine with traditional dishes. The event will feature relaxation areas, interactive experiences, and gastronomic offerings designed to highlight Moldovan wines through combinations with traditional cuisine,” explains ONVV.
Over more than 25 years of existence, National Wine Day has grown into one of the most important wine-dedicated events in the region, attracting tens of thousands of people every year.
This year’s edition also has a special significance, being an anniversary event and aiming to promote the Wine of Moldova brand and the diversity of local wine production.
The message of the anniversary edition focuses on community and tradition, under the slogans #VinulCareNeUnește and #UnitedbyWine.
National Wine Day was organized for the first time in 2002 at the initiative of the authorities and under the patronage of the Presidency, to celebrate the country’s millennia-old winemaking traditions.
