The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) is putting into circulation, starting September 25, a commemorative coin dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM).
The coin completes the numismatic series “Others” and is dedicated to ASEM, which was founded on September 25, 1991. The institution specializes in economic sciences and plays a role in training specialists, conducting scientific research, and contributing to the country’s economic and social development.
The commemorative coin is made of silver, has a face value of 50 lei, and has a mintage of 500 pieces. The coin’s design was created by graphic artist Neli Țurcanu.
Each coin is presented in a transparent methacrylate capsule and a presentation box. The pieces are accompanied by certificates of authenticity signed by NBM Governor Anca Dragu.
The certificate also includes a QR code that provides access to detailed information about the coin’s characteristics on the NBM’s official website.
The coin can be purchased by the public by submitting an online request in the “Coin” section of the NBM website, as well as through licensed banks in the Republic of Moldova. These banks independently set the selling price, which may not exceed the level established by the National Bank by more than 3%.
