PM meets Canada's Ambassador to Moldova
The promotion of economic and investment priorities, Moldova-Canada projects, and the country’s European agenda have been discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and Canada's Ambassador to Moldova Gavin Buchan.
The PM thanked the Canadian authorities for supporting the European path of Moldova, as well as for the financial and technical support provided by Canada over the years.
To strengthen the energy sector, Canada granted aid worth 88 million dollars in 2024, and through a project meant for women from rural areas, supported their involvement in the agricultural and forestry sectors. At the same time, in last July, a statement of intent for a pension agreement between Moldova and Canada was signed, and the agreement is planned to be signed in the near future.
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu emphasized openness to continue the projects underway and discussed the government's priorities, focusing on judicial reform, economic growth for the benefit of citizens and attracting new investments: “After a period marked by crises, we are now focused on development and achieving our national goal – joining the European Union.”
