Joint Control Commission holds weekly meeting
Chisinau, 30 December /MOLDPRES/ - The members of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) today resumed discussions on the agenda for the ordinary meeting at a new working meeting, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
Given that, this time too, the draft agenda presented for approval failed to contain the most pressing problems marking the Security Zone, Moldova’s Delegation asked to include for consideration and decision the subjects concerning the actions of the so-called ‘’border guards’’ and creating an efficient mechanism of monitoring in the Security Zone. These subjects have been previously on the agenda of the Commission and were postponed by Tiraspol, under the pretext of holding additional consultations.
Moldova’s delegation gave concrete examples which prove that Tiraspol’s ‘’border guards’’ destabilize the regime of the Security Zone, jeopardizes the free movement, resort to the abusive detaining of citizens and on 11 May 2021, they triggered even the death of a resident from the Rascaieti village, who drowned in the Dniester river, in an attempt to escape from the so-called ‘’border guards’’.
While the Moldovan delegation was bringing arguments to persuade the sides to accept for discussion these important subjects, the leaders of the Transnistrian delegation sharply interrupted the discussions and closed the JCC meeting unilaterally.
Thus, Tiraspol’s representatives openly blocked the procedure of approval of the agenda and of holding the ordinary meeting of the Joint Control Commission.
In another context, Moldova’s delegation informs that, also today, a new stage of the re-arrangement works was finished at the post No 9/right of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces from nearby the Vadul lui Voda settlement. Three boxes were set for servicemen who fulfill their duty 24 hours in various weather conditions.
It is worth mentioning that, in last October, during the implementation of an action plan on the conditions of work of the peacekeeping posts, the sides managed to reposition another post of peacekeepers, which allowed de-blocking the road Cosnita-Balabanesti and removing obstacles to the movement of citizens and transport means on this road segment.
