Moldovan government's secretary general has meeting with Romania's Ambassador

Chisinau, 6 March /MOLDPRES/ - Government’s Secretary General  Artur Mija today met Romania’s  Ambassador to Moldova Cristian-Leon Turcanu. The officials discussed projects suggested for implementation within the Agreement between the governments of Moldova and Romania on the carrying out of the programme on technical financial assistance, based on a financial assistance worth 100 million euros, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.      

Within the first installment of the Agreement, regional development and infrastructure projects, as well as we projects in the education sector are to be financed. As far as the second installment is concerned, on the next period, decision-makers will collect the concepts of the projects proposed by ministries; afterwards, they will be prioritized – preponderantly, the funds will be directed to regions, so that the money brings direct benefits to each citizen.         

„The portfolios submitted will be analyzed taking into account the government’s priorities – reconstruction of the economy, development of infrastructure and ensuring the country’s security. We will also focus on projects in the agriculture and energy sectors. We will make effort to implement each project as quickly as possible, so that we deliver the results expected by people as soon as possible,’’ Artur Mija said. He stressed the importance to ensure the full absorption by Moldova of the funds made available by the Romanian government.      

For his part, Ambassador Cristian-Leon Turcanu reiterated that Romania paid special attention to the bilateral relations with Moldova and would continue backing the projects with direct impact on the improvement of the citizens’ living standards.
