Moldovan PM meets local authorities from central Nisporeni district
Regional development priorities, projects implemented thanks to government’s investments and the challenges faced by communities have been among the main topics discussed at a meeting of Prime Minister Dorin Recean with representatives of the local public authorities and decentralized services from the central Nisporeni district.
The PM said that, by 2028, when Moldova will be able to benefit from European pre-accession funds, specialists in mayoralties need to strengthen their project writing capabilities, so that the country can achieve a high rate of absorption of financial support. Similarly, according to Prime Minister Dorin Recean, by then, all settlement of Moldova should have essential conditions – access to drinking water and sewerage systems, repaired roads and street lighting.
The participants at the meeting noted that, over the past four years, government’s investments had generated visible results for the over 36,000 residents of the Nisporeni district. People appreciate the modernization of schools, kindergartens, and hospitals. At the same time, the mayors noted that, among the problems that remain in some localities, there were the lack of access to water supply and sewer systems, as well as unpaved roads.
‘’All projects implemented in the Nisporeni district show that Moldova is moving in the right direction – towards a European future, built here at home, with investments that bring comfort, safety and better living conditions for people,’’ emphasized Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
Specifically, 15 million lei was allocated for equipping Nisporeni district hospital with a photovoltaic plant, a modern oxygen production system, intensive care equipment, beds and medical furniture, anesthesia and resuscitation machines, operating room equipment.
At the same time, over 11 million lei was invested in the renovation and equipping of kindergartens in the localities of Varzaresti, Barboieni, Cristesti, gymnasiums in Milesti, Zberoaia, and Balauresti, as well as at the Mircea Eliade Theoretical Lyceum from the Nisporeni town.
In total, approximately 134 million lei has been allocated for the 46 projects completed and in the process of implementation through the governmental programmes European Village and European Village Express.
At the same time, more settlements of the district have access to drinking water, as 45 km of water supply, two artesian wells, a water tower, and two pumping stations have been constructed. Also, the rehabilitation of 2 km of road in the Bolduresti village and 4.5 km between the localities of Siscani and Marinici has been completed. This year, another three road segments will be rehabilitated by the government through the Europe is Near programme, with investments worth over 19 million lei.
