
Moldovan president received Madeleine K. Albright Democracy Award
Chisinau, Dec. 8 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu received on the evening of December 6 in Washington the Madeleine K. Albright Democracy Award, offered by the National Institute for Democracy in the USA, the presidential press service has reported.
The official thanked for the appreciation, saying she accepts this award on behalf of all the citizens of the Republic of Moldova who fight for democracy and freedom.
The democracy award, named after the former US Secretary of State, was also awarded this year to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Slovakia Zuzana Čaputova and Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė.
