
PM meets new Ambassador of Sweden to Moldova
The development of Moldovan-Swedish cooperation, collaboration in various sectors and concrete projects with a direct impact on citizens have been discussed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean and new Ambassador of Sweden to Moldova Petra Lärke.
The PM appreciated the constant support for democratic reforms and European aspirations of the country, emphasizing that Sweden was one of the biggest bilateral donors to Moldova. Through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, the country receives financial and technical assistance in such areas as good governance, social inclusion and sustainable development. At the same time, Sweden stays one of the key partners in strengthening our Moldova's security, including in the energy sector.
The officials also discussed ways to expand cooperation in such fields as green energy, commerce and production, as well as attracting Swedish companies in IT and FinTech. ‘’We focus on economic recovery and attracting foreign investments into the national economy, in order to create new jobs and improve the quality of life for our people,’’ said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
The sides also referred to cooperation in crisis management and strengthening the cyber resilience of Moldova, in the context of the parliamentary elections and foreign interference with the electoral process.
