The General Inspectorate of Carabineers will ensure an efficient and prompt response to citizens' requests, with quicker interventions in emergency situations. The cabinet today approved changes concerning the activity of the carabineers.

According to the document, the carabineers will have the main role in ensuring and restoring public order, while the police will be responsible for maintaining it. Also, through better organization of the law enforcement forces, the time of response to incidents will be shortened to 15 minutes.

Another novelty deals with the creation of 5 mobile intervention units, which will provide regional coverage for Causeni, Cahul, Ungheni, Orhei and Edinet. In case of urgent interventions, the principle of the nearest team will be applied.

The changes also pertain to the strengthening of the professional training of the carabineers, through the regulation of the activities of the Center for Training and Improvement. By improving training programs and using modern study methods, the carabineers will benefit from continuous training adapted to current challenges.
