
As many as 139 polling stations to be set up outside Moldova for 11 July snap elections
Chisinau, 5 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today established the organization of 139 polling stations abroad for the snap parliamentary elections due on 11 July 2021.
Under the decision approved by CEC, the decision was taken in line with the provisions of the electoral legislation, with the preliminary notification by the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE).
Thus, the polling stations will be created at the diplomatic missions and consular offices of Moldova, as well as in other settlements, based on the number of voters who participated in the previous ballot, organized in the national constituency, of the data as a result of the preliminary registration, as well as based on the information received by MAEIE from the competent authorities of the residence countries of Moldova’s citizens as to their number and the place of their stay.
At the same time, according to the CEC ruling, MAEIE is given the task to identify the rooms for the polling stations, in accordance with the technical conditions established by the normative framework, as well as to put forward qualified people as heads of the electoral bureaus of the polling stations set up.
