Chisinau, Dec. 5 /MOLDPRES/- Communists and Socialists Bloc (BCS) today submitted a motion of no confidence in the government led by Prime Minister Dorin Recean. The motion was signed by 26 MPs.

The motion read in the plenary by MP Petru Burduja says that the government led by Prime Minister Dorin Recean would be "unable to administer the country and defend the national interest".

"Today, on the eve of winter, the Republic of Moldova is facing a deep energy crisis, lacking clear policies and strategies to ensure the country's energy security and protect citizens from adverse consequences. This is in contradiction with the promises made and the proud arguments assumed at the swearing-in. The government has achieved practically nothing in the energy sector, on the contrary, the state of things has deteriorated and worsened," the text of the motion states.

MP Radu Marian, chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economy, Budget and Finance said that the authorities will carry out all necessary actions so that citizens can get through this winter.

"The Parliament and the Government will make sure that the citizens will get through this winter in spite of the fact that the opposition, together with their Kremlin friends want to weaken the state institutions. This is what this motion of no confidence is aimed at," said Radu Marian.

According to the Parliament's rules, the motion of no confidence can be initiated by at least 26 MPs, and its debate will take place on the date set by the Standing Bureau, within 14 days of submission. At least 51 MPs' votes are needed to dismiss the government.
