Chisinau, 13 August /MOLDPRES/- The draft law amending Article 8 of the Law on the National Anticorruption Center (CNA) was backed today by MPs.

The bill proposes that the CNA director be appointed by Parliament by a majority of the elected Members, on the proposal of at least 20 Members, with the approval of the Committee on rules and immunities, for a term of 5 years, without the possibility appointment for another term.

At the same time, the Committee on rules and immunities will verify the compliance of the proposed candidates with the established requirements and will present to the Parliament opinions on the fulfillment of the legal conditions for appointment.

The legislative initiative, elaborated by a group of deputies from the Action and Solidarity Party Faction, provides for the modification of the way of appointing and appointing the CNA director.
