EU diplomacy head to visit Moldova; visit's agenda
European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas will pay a visit to Chisinau on April 23-24. This will be her first visit to Moldova as a member of the European Commission.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE), Kaja Kallas will be received by President Maia Sandu. The high-ranking European official will also have meetings with Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi.
“The discussions will address current topics on Moldova’s European path, the support provided by the European Union through the Economic Growth Plan and through the European Peace Facility, which helps Moldova strengthen institutions in the field of security and defense,” a MAE statement reads.
Kaja Kallas will also have a dialogue with civil society representatives and will participate, along with Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi, in a meeting with young European ambassadors.
The visit will end with a joint press conference held by Kaja Kallas and President Maia Sandu.
Kaja Kallas took over the office of EU High Representative, Vice President of the European Commission on December 1, 2024.
