Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi met today with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas.

The two officials discussed the evolution of the political dialogue between Chișinău and Brussels, as well as the strengthening the Partnership in the security and defense.

The Chișinău head expressed gratitude for the European Union's support in strengthening the resilience of Moldovan institutions, especially through the EU Partnership Mission in the Republic of Moldova (EUPM). The official emphasized the importance of extending the mandate of this mission for another two years, in the context of increasing hybrid risks, including cyber and informational.

“The European Union is a reliable partner for the Republic of Moldova. EU support is clear evidence that Moldova is not alone on its European path,” said Popșoi.

Kaja Kallas congratulated Chișinău authorities for the progress made in the European integration process and reaffirmed the EU's strong commitment to support Moldova's reforms and efforts. She advocated for expanding collaboration in common strategic areas by leveraging the Security and Defense Partnership.
