Moldova, Romania deepen dialogue on security, European integration

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi today met  senator Nicoleta Pauliuc, Chairwoman of the Committee for Defense, Public Order, and National Security of the Romanian Senate, and Senator Titus Corlatean, Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee, on a working visit to Chisinau.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions focused on strengthening the bilateral cooperation in strategic areas for Moldova's security and development - the European path, energy, infrastructure and cybersecurity.

"We are pleased with the solid partnership with Romania and aim to undertake concrete projects together in the coming years, especially in energy, infrastructure, and our European journey," said Minister Mihai Popsoi.

During the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their joint commitment to economic development, consolidation of the regional security and promotion of European values. At the same time, the officials addressed aspects of cooperation in strategic communication, combating disinformation, and leveraging Romania's expertise in reforms and European integration.

The Romanian senators reiterated Romania's constant support for Moldova's democracy, stability and security, highlighting the willingness of the Romanian parliament to provide expertise and consultancy for Chisinau to achieve the strategic goals.
