
Moldovan Central Electoral Commission requests limitation of work of two parties, dissolution other two political formations
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has notified the Ministry of Justice to limit the activities of the Socialist Party of Moldova and the Political Party Force of Alternative and Rescue of Moldova, as well as to dissolve the Conservative Party and the Political Party CHANCE.
According to the CEC, these four political groups have repeatedly infringed the legal provisions as to the financing of political parties.
Thus, the Socialist Party of Moldova sent the report on paper, through the state enterprise Moldova’s Post, which violates legal provisions, and it was also signed by the party's treasurer, who has not been confirmed in this capacity. At the same time, the Political Party CHANCE sent its report on paper, beyond the deadline, signed electronically only by the party’s president, which runs counter to the legislation.
In the context, the CEC has additionally ruled to notify the Ministry of Justice about the repeated infringements of legal provisions on financing the work of political parties by the Socialist Party of Moldova, the Political Party Force of Alternative and Rescue of Moldova, the Conservative Party and the Political Party CHANCE, in order to add the findings of the CEC to the existing evidence within the litigations pending at courts:
- to limit the activities of the Socialist Party of Moldova and the Political Party Force of Alternative and Rescue of Moldova;
- to dissolve the Conservative Party and the Political Party CHANCE, reads a communique by CEC.
Also, the CEC found that 58 out of 66 political groups had submitted their reports on time (by the current date of July 15), through the Financial Control SSI, concerning the financial management for the first semester of 2025.
Also, the Political Party Building Europe at Home (PACE) submitted its report beyond the term. Seven other political groups have not submitted their financial management report for the first half of 2025.
