Moldovan citizens to be invited to participate in elections
Chisinau, Sep 24 /MOLDPRES/- Citizens from all over the country will receive invitations to participate in the presidential elections and the republican constitutional referendum on October 20, 2024.
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has printed 1.5 million invitations. They have already been distributed to district electoral councils.
The head of the CEC's Communication, Public Relations and Media Department, Rodica Sirbu, said that the action is traditionally organized on the eve of elections.
"It has already become a tradition when, on the eve of elections, citizens entitled to vote are informed about the date and place of voting, the polling station to which they are assigned, including under which number they are on the electoral list, as well as about the possibility to request, if necessary, to vote with a mobile ballot box. The action is part of the CEC's efforts to inform voters about electoral procedures," said Sirbu.
A total of 2,221 polling stations have been set up for the October 20, 2024 elections. 1,957 polling stations will be opened in the country, 30 polling stations will be organized for voters from the localities on the left bank of the Dniester and 234 polling stations - for citizens from abroad.
In order to check online which polling station they are assigned to, voters can go to https://verifica.cec.md, click on the "Find out where to vote" button, select their home address and you will find information about the polling station associated with that address.
Elections for the office of President of the Republic of Moldova will be held on October 20, 2024, the same day as the referendum in which citizens will be asked whether they support the country's accession to the European Union.
