Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister to visit Denmark, Luxembourg, Estonia, Latvia

On 12-13 May 2025, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi will pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Denmark.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Popșoi will have a meeting with Denmark's Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen and representatives of the Danish Parliament.

Popșoi will participate in Copenhagen Democracy Summit, where he will deliver a speech.

The Foreign Minister will meet with members of the Moldovan diaspora in Denmark.

On May 14, in Luxembourg, Popșoi will attend the 134th Ministerial Session of the Council of Europe (CoE), organized in the context of Luxembourg's Presidency of the CoE Committee of Ministers.

The agenda of the 134th session will focus on assessing progress in the implementation of Reykjavik Declaration, adopted at the fourth Summit of Heads of State in 2023, particularly concerning the Council of Europe's support for Ukraine. Moreover, there will be official opening event for the signing by states of the new Council of Europe Convention on the protection of legal profession.

Popșoi will have a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Development Cooperation of Belgium Maxime Prévot.

On May 16-18, Popșoi will pay a working visit to Tallinn, Republic of Estonia.

The agenda of the visit includes a bilateral meeting with his counterpart, Estonia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Margus Tsahkna. Popșoi will have meetings with officials of the Estonian Parliament (Riigikogu): Parliament President, Lauri Hussar, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Marko Mihkelson, and Head of the Friendship Group with the Republic of Moldova, Luisa Roivas.

Popșoi will also participate in Lennart Meri Conference, where he will deliver a speech in a high-level panel dedicated to European security in a new world order based on spheres of influence.

On May 19-20, the official will pay a working visit to the Republic of Latvia. 

The visit agenda also includes meetings with deputies of the Latvian Parliament (Saeima), including representatives of the foreign affairs and European affairs committees, as well as members of the Parliamentary Group for promoting cooperation with the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. Additionally, the Moldovan official will have discussions with Latvia's Minister of Transportation Atis Švinka.
