
Moldovan diplomacy pays working visit to Brussels
Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu pays a working visit to Brussels, Belgium, on 23-24 March.
According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service, Nicu Popescu will participate in the second meeting of the Moldova-European Union high-level political and security dialogue. The dialogue is a framework of cooperation between Moldova and EU, which is focused on the security field, as well as on challenges triggered by the regional security situation and its humanitarian and economic impact on Moldova.
The dialogue will put emphasis on the identification of concrete ways for strengthening Moldova’s resilience, especially in terms of the cyber security, combating the misinformation and strengthening the cooperation within the European Peace Facility, as well as closer cooperation for fighting the hybrid threats.
On the sidelines of the working visit to Brussels, the Moldovan official will have meetings will Director-General at the Directorate-General Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (NEAR) Gert-Jan Koopman, members of the Office of the European Commission president. Popescu will present the progress in the implementation of those nine recommendations of the European Commission and national legislation’s approximation with the EU’e one.
Foreign Affairs Minister Nicu Popescu will also discuss the organization by Moldova of the summit of the European Political Community on 1 June and will give more interviews with international media.
