Moldovan Foreign Affairs Ministry proposes opening of 294 polling stations abroad for parliamentary elections

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) has proposed to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) the opening of 294 polling stations abroad for the parliamentary election due on September 28. The spokesman for the government, Daniel Voda, urged citizens living abroad to pre-register for the election, in order  to ensure the availability of a polling station as close as possible to their residence.

"If you are abroad, register in advance and make sure you have a nearby polling station," said the government’s spokesman.

Citizens can pre-register till August 14, at 23:59, to communicate their intention to vote outside the country. This action is carried out to optimize the process of stablishing the number and locations of polling stations.

CEC today unveiled for consultation the preliminary information on possible polling stations abroad, which are to be established for the parliamentary elections due on September 28, 2025.

The proposed locations have been integrated into an interactive map. They were presented by CEC, based on proposals on behalf of the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The final decision on the organization of polling stations abroad for the parliamentary elections due on September 28, 2025, will be made by the Central Electoral Commission by August 24, in accordance with the deadline provided for by the legislation.

On September 28, Moldovan citizens with rights to vote are expected at the polls to elect the MPs of the future parliament.
