Moldovan parliament speaker says Ukraine presently needs strong international solidarity

Ukraine needs strong international solidarity today and a determined response against the aggression and terror of the Russian Federation. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has made statements to this effect, after last night's massive attack on Kyiv.

“Last night, Ukraine was again the target of an unprecedented attack with Russian missiles and drones on Kyiv and other cities. The strikes directed against civilians; the loss of human lives and the destruction caused are shocking,” said Igor Grosu.

The official emphasized that, in these difficult moments, Moldova stood by the Ukrainian people.

“Ukraine today needs strong international solidarity and a determined response against the aggression and terror of the Russian Federation. We condemn Russia’s ruthless war and stand with the Ukrainian people, who are fighting courageously and, unfortunately, at the cost of human lives, for the whole of Europe,” Speaker Igor Grosu underlined.

On the night of May 23 to May 24, Russian forces launched a large-scale combined attack with missiles and drones on Kyiv and the surrounding region, striking residential buildings and other infrastructure of the Ukrainian capital. The latest toll from the authorities shows that four people have died and more than 60 have been injured.
