Moldovan president says massive attack on Kyiv of May 23-24 night war crime

President Maia Sandu today delivered a message condemning last night’s massive attack on Kyiv, emphasizing that it “is a war crime.”

“The massive attack last night with Russian missiles and drones on Kyiv is a war crime. Killing civilians is a war crime,” Maia Sandu wrote on the X platform.

The head of state said that “the response of the free world must be more support for Ukraine and more pressure on Russia.”

At the same time, Maia Sandu reaffirmed Moldova’s support for Ukraine.

“Moldova stands with Ukraine and its brave people,” the president concluded.

During the night May 23 to May 24, Russian forces launched a large-scale combined attack with missiles and drones on Kyiv and the surrounding region, hitting residential buildings and other infrastructure in the capital. The latest toll from the authorities shows that four people have died and more than 60 have been injured.
