
Parliamentary elections on 28 September
The decision to set the date for the parliamentary elections was published today in the Official Journal.
Thus, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova are expected at the polls on September 28 to elect the deputies of the future Parliament.
The decision was voted on 17 April by the Parliament and comes into force today, upon publication in the Official Journal.
The project for holding the parliamentary election on September 28 was registered by speaker Igor Grosu, together with MPs of the Action and Solidarity Party.
According to the legislation, parliamentary elections are held within at most three months after the expiration or dissolution of the previous Parliament, and the election date is set at least 70 days before the election day, by a parliamentary decision.
In the Republic of Moldova, the last parliamentary elections took place on July 11, 2021, and the Constitutional Court confirmed the results of the 11th Legislature's parliamentary election and validated the mandates of the elected deputies by the decision of July 23, 2021.
