Politicians of Moldova's Dignity and Truth Platform join team of Action and Solidarity Party for parliamentary elections
The Dignity and Truth Platform (DA) has announced that it would participate in the September 28 parliamentary elections alongside the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), in a joint effort to strengthen the pro-European front and prevent the fragmentation of the votes of citizens supporting the European integration.
The DA Platform Council decided, after thorough consultations with mayors and local councilors, to accept the political partnership with PAS, our colleagues from the European People's Party, said the Platform’s president, Dinu Plangau.
He noted that the decision was made to ensure a common and effective electoral front against anti-democratic and pro-Russian forces.
‘’We would have launched into a political fight, but no one in the DA Platform wanted to take the risk of securing a few percentages that would prevent the creation of a pro-European majority. The road to Europe is not guaranteed. But together with PAS, we can guarantee a clear and secure direction for the country,’’ Plangau stressed.
Based on recent amendments to the Electoral Code, the DA Platform will not appear on the ballot. At the same time, Liviu Vovc was appointed interim president of the party until the party congress, scheduled after the elections.
‘’NOW, we must unite for the country, in order to together become the shield that can withstand the challenges of the moment. Let's be rational and understand that, first and foremost, we are citizens who must love our country, love the Republic of Moldova,’’ said the leader of the DA Platform.
On September 28, parliamentary elections will take place in Moldova.
