Moldovan speaker urges diaspora to register for parliamentary elections on 28 September
Speaker Igor Grosu has called upon diaspora citizens to register in order to participate in the parliamentary elections on 28 September.
In a message published on his official page, he mentions that to facilitate the opening of polling stations abroad as close as possible to Moldovan communities, citizens are encouraged to register on online platform: http://inregistrare.cec.md.
"We are one family, with the same rights and dreams, whether we live in the country or abroad. On 28 September, a new challenge awaits us - parliamentary elections. Even if you've heard this many times over the years, these elections are truly crucial. Either we give up on the development we have started and on the chance to become a member state of the European Union, or we continue to work for a European, free and prosperous country. It is up to us what will happen to Moldova in the coming years," Grosu said.
Registering takes only a few minutes and is valid if done for previous elections.
"It is very important that as many citizens as possible register in advance! This depends on ensuring that polling stations abroad are as close as possible to you. It is up to us what will happen to Moldova in the coming years," Grosu concluded.
In past elections, over 113,000 Moldovans in diaspora registered, but authorities hope that this year the number will be higher.
