Air Operations Center of National Army: number of airspace violations reaches 100 in Moldova

The number of incidents involving violations of Moldova’s airspace has reached 100 since 2022. Seven incidents were recorded during October 10-16, 2026 alone.

According to the Defense Ministry, one of the cases was recorded on October 10, when fragments of a drone containing explosives were discovered in Geamana, central Anenii Noi district.

Six other incidents involved the unauthorized overflight of the national airspace by military aircraft. Two of them were recorded on October 15, in Purcari, Stefan Voda district, and in Ivanovca, in the Transnistrian region.

Four other cases were recorded on October 16, in the area of Tudora, Stefan Voda district; along the Otaci–Hadarauti route, Ocnita District; along the Caplani–Olanesti route, Stefan Voda District; and along the Purcari–Dnestrovsk route.

Since the beginning of 2026, 63 incidents involving violations of Moldova’s airspace have been recorded, of which 15 in October.

The Defense Ministry warns that airspace violations, as well as the presence of drones, missiles or their fragments on the country’s territory pose risks to public safety and may have unpredictable consequences.

In the context, the institution urges citizens not to approach or touch drones, missiles or their fragments, if they discover them, and to immediately inform the authorities by calling the single emergency number 112.
