Consultation section of Chisinau-based Republican Clinical Hospital renovated, modernized

The Consultation Section of the Timofei Mosneaga Republican Clinical Hospital has begun operations in a new building, rebuilt and equipped with high-performance equipment, after years of waiting. The reconstruction cost approximately 64.4 million lei; he funds were allocated by the Ministry of Health, the National Health Insurance Company, from the institution's budget and donations on behalf of external partners.

The opening was attended by Health Minister Ala Nemerenco. She said that, in the last three years, the Ministry of Health, from its own resources and with the support of partners, had invested over 58 million lei in modernizing the infrastructure of the Timofei Mosneaga Republican Clinical Hospital and in equipping it with high-performance medical devices.

The new section has an area of 2,533 square meters and is structured on four levels. It offers medical services in 24 specialties, including cardiology, surgery, neurology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, ophthalmology, allergology and urology. At the same time, the institution also hosts the Republican Center for Occupational Diseases.

 The new premises feature modern equipment that allows for rapid and accurate diagnosis of diseases, such as the echocardiograph, videogastroscope, optical coherence tomography scanner, multidisciplinary ultrasound machine, digital spirometer and vascular duplex ultrasound equipment.

Each level of the building is meant for specific services: Level I - rooms for functional, imaging and ophthalmologic investigations. Level II is an isolated department for endoscopic investigations. Level III hosts rooms for surgeons and a modern dressing room. On Level IV, consultations in internal medicine are provided.

With a team of 39 specialist doctors, 30 nurses and 10 auxiliary staff, the section serves over 150,000 patients annually.
