Drone falls in central Moldova village; police secure area
A drone today fell in the village of Chistelnita, central Telenesti district, 100 meters from a home. The incident was reported to the police by a local resident.
According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), no casualties were reported.
“Police officers are at the scene, have cordoned off the perimeter and are ensuring the safety of local residents. At the same time, specialists from the police’s Technical and Explosives Division are on their way to examine the object and establish all circumstances,” the IGP said.
Police urge citizens not to approach or touch aircraft, fragments or other suspicious objects, to keep their distance and to avoid the area until the checks are completed.
The Air Operations Center of the National Army today announced that a drone had entered the national airspace without authorization and disappeared from radar. The incident was reported amid the Russian Federation’s massive attacks on Ukraine.
