Eight people, of whom three Ukrainian citizens, detained for smuggling drugs in Moldova
Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ - Eight persons, of whom three citizens of Ukraine, have been detained for introducing over 10 kg of drugs worth about 3 million lei (150,000 euros) in Moldova.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG), the suspects have been documented starting from last April. In late May 2022, a woman born in Ukraine was detected at the Palanca border crossing point while carrying about 1.4 kg of PVP drugs in a disguised way. During searches made on this case, law-enforcers found at the ring’s members also other drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as accessories for their sale.
The Moldovan citizens had the mission of packers and keepers of drugs and one of them was in charge of selling the substances through internet shops. Another two members from Ukraine were caught in action while placing drugs in hiding places, from where buyers were to taken them. .
Presently, the people are prosecuted under arrest.
