Exam materials for primary, middle, high schools tested on representative sample in over 280 schools of Moldova
A testing on representative sample of exam materials for primary, middle, and high school classes is being conducted in 283 schools from Moldova. The exercise started today and will last for three days, involving 11,452 students.
The goal of the representative sample testing is to administer and verify assessment tools, in order to ensure the efficient organization and conduct of national graduation exams in the 2025 session.
“During the testing, students solve the proposed tests within the time provided by the Regulations regarding national graduation exams and the Methodology for organizing and conducting national testing in primary education. Written tests are discussed and analyzed with the teacher in class,” the director of the National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation, Lilia Ivanov, said.
The representative sample for testing the exam materials will include: at the primary level, 2,651 students from 65 educational institutions; at the middle school level – 3,472 students from 103 educational institutions; at the high school level – 5,291 students from 131 educational institutions.
The teaching staff involved in the representative sample testing will prepare an informational report expressing their opinions regarding the clarity of the subject’s formulation and their compliance with the exam syllabus and curriculum; the complexity of the items, test complexity, test structure, page layout, image clarity, space reserved for solving subjects, correction scoring guideline scientific correctness, clarity, accessibility.
The working groups in charge of developing the exam materials will use all data from the representative sample testing to create the final tests.
In the current academic year, national testing in primary education will be organized during May 13-22, 2025. The middle school graduation exam session will take place on June 2-12, 2025, and the baccalaureate exams will be conducted from June 3 to 20, 2025.
