
Fire Shield 2022 exercise officially opened at military in eastern Moldova
Chisinau, 19 September /MOLDPRES/ - A ceremony on the opening of the multinational exercise, Fire Shield-2022, today took place at the Military Training Base of the National Army from Bulboaca, eastern Anenii Noi district. National Army servicemen, representatives of power wielding structures of Moldova, military from Romania and USA participate in the exercise.
In the beginning of the event, the deputy Chief of the General Staff of the National Army, colonel Sergiu Cirimpei highlighted the importance of the exercise for ensuring an efficient preparation of the participating strength. He noted that such exercises represented a good occasion for servicemen to jointly train and improve their operational capabilities, the Defence Ministry said.
According to the scenario, the military will make shootings from various types of weapons, including artillery systems and will get involved in missions specific for the activity sector.
The goal of the trainings is to improve the abilities of the participating subunits and enhance the level of interoperability of the partner countries’ armies in a multinational framework, specific for the peacekeeping missions.
The Fire Shield is part of the National Army’s training plan for 2022.
The exercise has been annually organized since 2015.
