Five drones fly unauthorized over airspace of Moldova
Five drones flew unauthorized over the airspace of Moldova on the night of August 27, being detected near the border with Ukraine, in the context of air attacks launched by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
According to the Defense Ministry, the first drone crossed the state border from Ukraine near the locality of Beleaevka at 03:56, moving towards Palanca, Stefan Voda district. The aircraft left the airspace of Moldova one minute later, on the same route, returning to Ukraine.
A second aircraft was noticed at 03:59, coming from the direction of the locality of Starokazacie, Ukraine, and entering Moldovan airspace near the locality of Caplani. The drone disappeared from monitoring systems at 04:10, near Carahasani, Stefan Voda district.
The third drone crossed the border at 04:09, moving along the route Palanca - Crocmaz - Olanesti - Purcari - Rascaieti. At 04:24, the aerial object disappeared from radars near the locality of Pervomaisk, in the Transnistrian region, close to the border.
A fourth drone entered the airspace of Moldova at 04:16, in the area of the locality of Palanca, after which it crossed the border again in the direction of the locality of Maiaki, Ukraine.
A fifth aircraft was noticed at 05:50 near the Saiti customs post, in the area of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. The drone crossed the airspace of both states, and at 06:02 it moved in the direction of the locality of Lesnoie, leaving the airspace of Moldova.
The overflights took place following the air attacks of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. The National Army’s air operations service, together with its partners, continues to monitor the airspace, in ordere to ensure the security of the population.
