
New deputy mayor of Chisinau introduced to staff
Chisinau, 10 November /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban signed the appointment order on 8 November and today he introduced to the municipal team new deputy mayor of the capital Fadei Nagacevschi.
Ceban said that Nagacevschi, former Minister of Justice, will defend the rights of the city's residents and the municipality, and wished him success in his work. "Every municipal official must be responsible for the areas assigned to him, and teamwork contributes to changing the state of affairs," he said.
Nagacevschi said he will make every effort to ensure a strengthened activity with the mayor's team. He will be responsible for the legal field, as well as for the activity of the communal utilities.
According to the Law on the status of Chisinau, the deputy mayor of the capital is elected at the proposal of the mayor general, by the decision of the CMC, adopted with the vote of the majority of elected councilors. If the draft decision on the election of the proposed candidate for deputy mayor is excluded from the agenda at 2 consecutive meetings by the City Council or does not meet the required number of votes at 2 consecutive meetings, the mayor general appoints the deputy mayor by order, which is brought to the attention of the Municipal Council.
In the Chisinau Municipal Council, Fadei Nagacevschi's candidacy for deputy mayor did not gather twice a sufficient number of votes.
