Parliament of the Republic of Moldova joins Earth Hour
On March 28, the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova will mark Earth Day by taking part in Earth Hour initiative. Between 20:30 and 21:30, the lights in the Parliament building will be turned off, symbolizing solidarity with global efforts to protect the environment.
“It is a symbolic but important gesture. At the same time, in the context of the state of energy emergency, each of us must use energy responsibly and contribute to the stability of the energy system,” said Speaker Igor Grosu.
The Parliament leadership has encouraged citizens to join the initiative, reduce their energy consumption, and be more responsible with natural resources, thereby helping to protect the environment.
The Earth Hour movement is an international event organized annually, during which millions of people and institutions switch off their lights for one hour to draw attention to climate change and energy saving. It is marked in numerous cities and countries around the world.
