Bulgarian National Radio programs may be broadcast in Taraclia

Bulgarian National Radio might expand its broadcasting in the Republic of Moldova, particularly in Taraclia district. Discussions on this matter have been held between Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Sofia Emil Jacotă and Director- General of Bulgarian National Radio Milen Mitev.

According to a press release of the Embassy of Moldova, options have been analyzed for extending the broadcasting of the Bulgarian national radio programs – Radio News, Radio Horizont, as well as continuing the organization of educational competitions dedicated to youth.

"The interlocutors emphasized the importance of promoting Bulgarian language, culture and identity among the new generations through media and educational projects, which would contribute to preserving traditions and strengthening ties between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Bulgaria," it reads.

Bulgarian National Radio (Българско национално радио - БНР) is the national broadcasting organization of Bulgaria, operating two national channels and several regional stations, including an international service called Radio Bulgaria, which broadcasts in 11 languages.

It started as Radio Sofia in 1936, with the international service launched to reach audience in Europe and North America.
