Two civil servants of Moldova's parliament, Border Police detained for high treason, plot
Chisinau, 31 July /MOLDPRES/ - Two civil servants of the parliament and the Border Police have been detained for 72 hours, suspected of high treason and plot against Moldova, in their communication with an employee of an embassy from Chisinau.
The detaining took place, after officers of the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS) and employees of the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Causes (PCCOCS) had made a read at the parliament today morning.
„The deeds took place starting from the 2023 year. Thus, one of the two civil servants is suspected of high treason, after he would have collected and delivered to the embassy’s employee information due to be used to the detriment of Moldova’s interests,’’ PCCOCS said.
The second civil servant is suspected of plot against Moldova, the Prosecutor’s Office informed. ‘’He acted in order to get personal benefits. Thus, the civil servant maintained the contact with the embassy’s employee, in order to collect and deliver to him information, due to be used to the detriment of Moldova’s interests,’’ reads a press release of PCCOCS.
The investigations on this case continue.
