
Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/- Italian football champion, Inter Milan, defeated last night, with 3-1, the champion of the Republic of Moldova, Sheriff Tiraspol, in the third phase of the UEFA Champions League groups.
The match took place at the San Siro stadium in Milan, the Italians opening the score in the 34th minute through Edin Dzeko. At the beginning of the second half, the striker of the Tiraspol team, Sebastien Thill, equalized, scoring from a free kick. In the 58th minute, Arturo Vidal scored another goal to the Moldovan team, and the third goal of the Italians was scored in the 67th minute by Stefan de Vrij.
The victory of the Italians does not affect the group's ranking, Sheriff Tiraspol being still on the first place with 6 points. The team from Tiraspol is followed by Real Madrid, which also has 6 points. In the other match of group D, played on October 19, the team Shakhtar Donetsk was defeated by the Spaniards from Real Madrid with 5 to zero.
On November 3, Sheriff Tiraspol will meet the Inter Milan team at the Tiraspol stadium.
