Prime minister welcomes ratification of Moldova - EU Association Agreement

Chisinau, 13 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Iurie Leanca welcomes the European Parliament's decision to ratify the Moldova - EU Association Agreement. It includes the political association and economic integration between the two sides. The event took place during the plenary session of the European Parliament in Brussels today, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Iurie Leanca sees this event as a historical one: "I am convinced that only a European future will offer our citizens a better life, higher income, good roads, the best services in the fields of education and medicine, access to a market of half a billion consumers, institutions that would be stronger and follow the European model."
In the words of Prime Minister Iurie Leanca on the day of signing the Association Agreement, on 27 June, Moldova's European choice gave the country strength advance towards a normal life for each citizen.
So far, the document was ratified by the parliaments of seven European Union member countries: Romania, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Malta and Slovakia. The government approved a National Action Plan to implement the provisions of the Association Agreement with the European Union on 25 June.
