Chisinau, 30 January /MOLDPRES/ - An ordinary meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC), co-chaired by the head of the Russian delegation, was held in Bender on 29 January, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.

During the discussions on setting the agenda for the meeting, the sides agreed to include 45 topics in the agenda, including the approval of 32 reports by the Joint Military Command on the situation in the Security Zone and a plan of the key measures of the general staff and military contingents of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces for 2015.

It is worth mentioning that issue of the free movement in the Security Zone was included on the Commission’s agenda at the end of the meeting, This is a subject on which the Moldovan delegation has been insisting over the past 7 months.

This was possible thanks to the consultations from 27 January between the JCC co-chairs of Moldova, Russia and Transnistrian region, with the participation of representatives of Ukraine and Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). Afterwards, the sides ruled to include the subject of free movement in the Security Zone on the JCC agenda.

In this context, the Moldovan delegation to JCC proposed the delegations to formulate suggestions on the topic of the freedom of movement in the Security Zone, to be included in the subsequent decisions of the Commission. The Moldovan delegation also proposed the Joint Military Command to examine information that was not included in weekly reports. The proposals were backed by all members of the Joint Control Commission.

As a result, the sides decided that JCC next week would start considering issues from the agenda and approve the respective decisions.

According to the Moldovan delegation, approving the agenda will lead to the resumption of the work of the Joint Control Commission.
