European project helps Moldovan entrepreneurs from villages develop business

Chisinau, 30 January /MOLDPRES/ - Preliminary results of the implementation of a project titled: „Local/regional economic development network as decisive element for enhanced competitiveness in the Black Sea basin regions (Black LRED – Net)" were presented in Chisinau today.

Attending the event were rural entrepreneurs, representatives of the local public administration and European partners.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, Executive Director of the Business Advisory Centre Anatol Paladi said the project was implemented in five partner states: Armenia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Greece and Moldova.

„The project’s goal is to develop the business entrepreneurship at rural regions, to expand it at international level, create new jobs and improve the local infrastructure. Three villages were selected for this: Domulgeni, Floresti district, Sipca, Soldanesti district and Chiscareni, Singerei district,” Paladi said.

He added that, due to the project, the Proapis Apiarists’ Association was created in Singerei, which provided its members with consultancy, and an agricultural market would be opened here soon, in order to sell bee and fish products on the Chisinau-Balti national highway. In Sipca village, an economic cluster in the bee-keeping sector was launched and a group of producers was created. In Domulgeni – a network of salami and sausages producers is working and a campaign promoting rural tourism has been launched. The project also contributes to attracting financial sources for developing entrepreneurship from European funds.

At the event, the head of a salami and sausages processing enterprise from Domulgeni, Floresti district, businessman Ion Frumusachi said that, via the project, he wanted to develop his business, so that the latter became more profitable.

The above-mentioned project was launched in July 2013 and will end in July 2015. Its total budget is of 473,000 euros for those five countries, of which 65,000 euros was earmarked for Moldova.
