Chisinau, 30 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Nicolae Timofti received the Bucharest-based Macedonian Ambassador Pande Lazarevski at the state residence today, the presidential press service has reported.

Timofti spoke out for boosting the bilateral ties for the benefit of both states. „The common goal to join the European Union will contribute to developing the mutual cooperation on all dimensions and will facilitate the experience exchange as to integration into the European space,” Nicolae Timofti said.

Nicolae Timofti was confident that the inauguration of the Honorific Consulates of Moldova in Strumita in March 2013 and in Skopje in May 2014 would deepen the political, commercial and cultural ties between the two countries.

Pande Lazarevski voiced the interest of Macedonian business people to organise a Moldovan-Macedonian economic forum, that would help foster the bilateral trade exchanges.

The envoy informed about a Macedonian government’s proposal to mutually abrogate the visa regime for the citizens of the two states.

The officials agreed to boost bilateral visits at the highest level.
