Moldovan, Ukrainian officials tackle Transnistrian conflict-related issues

Chisinau, 26 February /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov today met Ukraine’s Special Representative for the Transnistrian conflict settlement Andrey Veselovski, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.

The officials broached the present situation in the Transnistrian conflict settlement, as well as aspects of the dialogue between the partners involved in solving it.

Osipov reiterated the new Moldovan government’s intention to boost the Transnistrian conflict settlement process. Victor Osipov highlighted the importance to resume the dialogue with the Transnistrian authorities, re-launch the working groups on confidence building and continue the five-plus-two talks.

Andrey Veselovski stressed that Ukraine was interested in the constructive development of all processes, which might contribute to solve the Transnistrian conflict.

Victor Osipov underlined the important role that Ukraine played in settling and thanked Veselovski for the efforts taken in order to solve the Transnistrian conflict.
