Foreign Ministry says no Moldovan identified on airplane crashed in south France

Chisinau, 25 March /MOLDPRES/- The Foreign and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) informs that verifications on establishing the identity and citizenship of the people onboard the Germanwings airplane, crashed in south France on 24 March, are underway. So far, no citizen of Moldova has been registered onboard the airship, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's communication and media relations service has reported.

At the same time, the verifications continue, taking into account the complexity of the process.

The A320 Airbus airplane belonging to Germanwings company of Germany, was en route from Barcelona to Dusseldorf and had 150 people onboard.

So far, no Moldovan has reported to the Moldovan diplomatic missions on having any relatives or friends onboard the aircraft.

On 24 March, the Moldovan diplomatic missions from France, Spain and Germany urgently appealed to the authorities of these states to check whether there were Moldovans on the list of passengers.

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman expressed condolences for the great loss to the families of the victims.
