Moldovan premier to visit Poland

Chisinau, 8 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici will pay a visit to Poland. The Moldovan prime minister received an invitation to this effect at a today's meeting with Polish Ambassador to Chisinau Artur Michalski. The prime minister accepted the invitation by his Polish counterpart Ewa Kopacz to pay a visit to Poland in next May, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

The officials discussed the economic and social developments in Moldova, regional situation and Moldova's European agenda. The prime minister said that Poland was an important partner for Moldova and an active promoter in the process of modernisation and approximation to European standards.

"The message of the government I lead is the same: Moldova wants to join the great European family. Me and my team have committed to speed up reforms for the citizens to enjoy their benefits as soon as possible", said the prime minister.

Chiril Gaburici also referred to the priority objectives of the government's agenda, such as: justice reform, economic growth and stability in the banking system. "We are open for foreign investment, but understand very well that, in order to make the business environment of Moldova attractive, we must carry out the set structural reforms. We are working intensely to this end, and the foreign partners’ recommendations are very important," said the prime minister.

At the same time, the sides referred to a 100-million-euros-worth loan, provided by the government of Poland for the development of the agro-industrial sector of Moldova, the disbursement of which will begin soon.

Artur Michalski said that Poland was willing to enhance Polish support in more areas of common interest, including advancement of Moldova's European integration.
