Moldovan cabinet sets prizes for performances at European Games

Chisinau, 3 June /MOLDPRES/- The government has approved the value of prizes due to be given to Moldovan sportsmen for their performances at European Games. It is about the first issue of the European Games, due in Baku, Azerbaijan, on 12-28 June. Over 90 sportsmen will represent Moldova at 12 sport disciplines: swimming, athletics, canoeing, boxing,wrestling, sambo, shooting, archery, taekwondo, fencing, cycling and judo, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.

This will be the largest delegation of Moldova in history of participations in Olympic events. The Baku European Games will provide the sportsmen with the opportunity qualify for the Olympic Games, due in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Thus, the Moldovan sportsmen, who win gold medals, will receive a prize worth 200,000 lei. For silver medals, the prize will be 160,000 lei, and for bronze- 120,000 lei.
